Complaint made to front desk only to get the response, "I'll let management know." The entire place is dated and needs a remodeling. Noises can easily be heard through walls and doors. All floors accessible from the street even though signs state otherwise. Closet sliding doors off the track - I guess it was too much to expect room service to report it when they cleaned the last guests. WiFi code did not work and was told to call the 888 number. Other phone had to be charged hanging on the same bathroom outlet as the hair dryer in the bathroom. Had to unplug microwave to charge one of three cell phones. Had to unplug a lamp to plug in television. Our room had very limited outlets for cell phone chargers. 2nd floor had commercial rug dryer and dehumidifier going and smelled like cat urine. It is my hope that management will see my review and make the necessary upgrades and improvements.ĭefinitely not a 3 star hotel like Priceline had listed. I didn't bother attempting to contact management during our stay since the repairs and improvements/upgrades needed couldn't possibly be made during an overnight stay. The only plus about this hotel is s right on the beach but even that isn't enough to convince me to stay at this hotel again. We were told that wifi was available but it was spotty and the ability to connect to it was more hit or miss (mostly a miss). The halls and our room smelled like wet sour carpet (kind of smelled like urine). The exterior of the building showed major signs of aging and lack of maintenance (cracked balconies, chipped paint). The property is worn down and I'm dire need of a major renovation/overhaul. WRONG!!! First of all, let me start by saying that this is not a 3 star hotel, maybe 1 or 2 stars sounds more accurate. This hotel was listed on a travel website as a 3 star facility and was competitively priced so we thought this would be a great place to stay for one night when we decided to extend our vacation. We definitely will not be going back there, even though this family reunion's headquarters is in Daytona Beach and we had stayed there before. We were given a small discount for staying, but it was not really worth it. Last minute alternate arrangements had to be made for our special lunch and brunch which were to be supplied by Ocean Breeze. Many family members moved out and stayed at other hotels, which was really inconvenient. Their saving grace was the Pizzeria and Ice Cream store across the street. We had to go down to the front desk to request towels, toilet paper and soap. There were cockroaches in the bathroom, and during our last day, there was no maid service. Also, we had already paid for an extra night (through third party booking) before checking in and then were charged more for hotel fees (we were told). Next day, because of complaints from other family members, were offered the option to get a full refund and check out to another hotel, but we opted to stay because we did not want to have to find another hotel and bring the luggage down again. Waited until midnight for a cart to take luggage up, but eventually had to take them up ourselves. Group for family reunion were assigned to sixth floor, but my husband and I luckily got a room on second floor. We definitely will not be going back there, even though this family reunion's headquarters is in Daytona Beach.
